Salary: £30000 - £45000 per annum
An exciting new role has arisen for an Employment solicitor to join a notable firm in Leicester in its modern, well equipped offices. This is an extremely good opportunity for a solicitor to join a growing and ambitious firm with the added bonus of no targets!
Our client is a leading specialist commercial law firm in Leicester and across the East Midlands who provide specialist legal, commercial and strategic advice to businesses ranging from small, to start-ups, to household names.
The firm takes pride in its reputation for its employment work and has the highest standards of expertise and service whilst retaining the feel of a smaller, friendlier practice. It has an enviable client following that is built on strong relationships, but all its clients are equally important whether they be large or small. The firm acts for clients on a broad spectrum including large PLCs through to more local SMEs. All the clients you will be working with are of top quality, meaning this is a great opportunity to really broaden your contacts and client base.
On a day to day basis you will be managing your own caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters including contracts, staff handbooks and policy documents, workplace disputes, disciplinary and grievance procedures, unfair and wrongful dismissal, redundancy, discrimination, maternity entitlements, settlement agreements, and TUPE matters. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in the marketing and business development of the department.
The key feature of this role is the fact that you will have no targets, this is designed so you can focus entirely on doing a fantastic and thorough job for your client. This is an extremely niche aspect and this will really give you the opportunity to learn and develop your skills.
The successful candidate should have around 1+ years' PQE with experience of managing a respondent caseload of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
You must be a hardworking individual with the motivation and desire to succeed and really get the most out of this opportunity. You must be a determined individual with a 'can-do' attitude and with a keenness to join a well-structured firm with a tight knit team of solicitors.
Excellent communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to advise clients on their legal needs with confidence. Working as part of a team is a specific aspect that this role requires, you must therefore be prepared to work amongst a friendly group of individuals and offer mutual support.
