Salary: £44000 - £55000 per annum
Construction Solicitor - Non-Contentious Work - Agile Working
A very highly regarded full-service national law firm is continuing the expansion drive of its Birmingham city centre office and is now eager to appoint an ambitious, talented Construction Solicitor to deal with a broad portfolio of high quality non-contentious construction matters.
This Legal 500 listed practice has a very strong offering and operates in both the commercial and private sectors. The firm boasts an envied client list and is also the proud recipient of a host of awards demonstrating exactly why major bodies recognise the practice as one of the best law firms to work for.
The firms' Construction Team acts for a heavyweight list of clients and has a team of 12 lawyers nationally who are instructed on a variety of construction and engineering projects on behalf of some of the major players within the sector which us unsurprising given that the client base comprises many of the best-known names in the industry. The team has achieved national recognition for the quality of its work and is arguably at the forefront of the discipline.
The firm is now particularly keen to hear from a construction solicitor with anything from between 2 to 5 years' PQE who has experience of dealing with non-contentious matters. You will be exposed to a varied caseload of challenging, technically complex and high-quality matters, acting for a prestigious client list which comprises some of the most highly regarded contractors both nationally and internationally, as well as a host of private and public sector clients. The team acts across a broad portfolio of sectors including infrastructure and energy (nuclear, renewables, conventional and oil and gas), property, waste, education, transport retail and those in the health sector. In particular, you will be proficient in dealing with infrastructure and energy related transactional work and any experience of projects work would be advantageous as going forward you will have the opportunity to be exposed to this.
Exceptional technical skills and first rate communication abilities are a pre-requisite for the role and it goes without saying that you will have strong academics. You will be commercially astute, self-motivated and be determined to provide the very best client service.
Interestingly, whilst the practice has a preference for those with current non-contentious construction experience, the firm is also open to consider supporting those via a re-train programme as long as they can demonstrate solid experience within either a wider real estate or commercial role in addition to an enthusiasm about specialising in the construction arena.
This firm is different as it is truly a meritocratic organisation and is in a very strong financial position. The practice can offer long term security and will offer exposure to high calibre work. Crucially, the culture at this firm is second to none; there is no "clocking in and out" and the practice is the very epitome of a one that promotes collaboration, cross-referrals of clients and expertise, supportiveness and a general all-round sense of collective achievement.
You will receive a very competitive remuneration and benefits package and will also be able to take advantage of a lucrative bonus scheme whilst working in a relaxed environment with very little in the way of KPIs and targets meaning that you can focus solely on your professional development and expedite the enhancement of your technical skills whilst working alongside notable experts in the sector.
