Planning Solicitor - Excellent Culture & Agile Working
An award-winning full service national commercial practice is eager to appoint an experienced Planning Solicitor to join the firms' very well-regarded Planning Team and be based at the firms' modern and vibrant office in Birmingham city centre.
This practice is especially proud of its reputation of having an open and collaborative culture and it does not operate a traditional pyramid structure. The firm is very much a meritocracy across the board with significant emphasis placed upon internal development and advancement which is no doubt why the practice is the recipient of a number of awards including being ranked as one of the best practices to work for.
The Real Estate Division deals with a varied portfolio of real estate matters to include strategic acquisitions, residential development and construction matters. Clients include high profile investors, well known developers, public sector bodies, Plc's and a variety of well-known private corporate entities and the team also has a significant operation specialising on the residential side of development site set up. In order to compliment this offering, the firm is eager to appoint an additional Planning Solicitor to form part of the National Planning Team and become an integral part of the broader real estate offering.
You will have gained experience dealing with all aspects of planning law to include planning appeals and inquiries, section 106 and 278 agreements, advise on Compulsory Purchase and Development Consent Orders and handle Judicial Reviews. Whilst the firm is pragmatic enough to accept that you may not have dealt with every procedure on this list, there will be a dedicated training and development path in operation allowing you to significantly enhance your technical skills to enable you to become a well-rounded and respected practitioner.
The firm is broadly open as to the level of PQE that is required and so it is happy to speak with those who have a minimum of 3 years' PQE right though to much more senior practitioners who have already gained good planning experience at a comparable national practice. Equally, the firm is happy to speak with in-house practitioners who are looking to make a return to private practice in the same way that existing team members have already done so.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the leaders in the sector and who are able to offer exposure to very good quality work and the opportunity to work alongside very experienced planning and commercial property lawyers who work collaboratively on some of the largest property and infrastructure projects currently on the market. The work is challenging but equally as rewarding and there will be significant opportunities to move into a more senior position over the medium term.
The firm is offering a very competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package which includes 25 days' holiday with the option to purchase more days, private health care, life assurance and an abundance of corporate discounts. There will also be opportunities for progression, exposure to top quality technically challenging matters and there will also be chances to get involved in client seminars and business development. You will also benefit from the firms' popular agile working policy to ensure that you have a healthy work/life balance, so for more information on this Planning Solicitor opportunity please contact Matt Robinson at QED Legal.
