We have a fantastic opportunity to work with a friendly, high-performing Legal and Business Affairs team within a much-loved TV business.

The Business & Legal Affairs team provides all the business and legal affairs support for the TV business from commissioning and content acquisition through to distribution.

The team is fully integrated within the business and works very closely with commissioning, programming, commercial and other teams.

The role is primarily providing legal support and advice (and all associated contract drafting and negotiation) to the content Commissioning and Global Acquisitions teams.



Key Responsibilities:

* Providing support and advice to the commissioning and global acquisitions teams.
* Working primarily on all commissioning, co-produced and acquired content across all channels and genres.
* Drafting all contracts relating to commissions and acquisitions (including development, underlying rights, clearances, programme production, talent, distribution, pre sale acquisitions, programme licensing, studio and output agreements and other forms of film or tv financing).
* Supporting the BLA team more broadly in respect of commercial projects from time to time.

You will have an understanding of copyright and the legal framework relating to rights licensing, together with experience working on commissioning (or production) and acquisitions in a media organisation or private practice. Other commercial experience in a media environment will be useful.

The successful candidate will need to understand non-linear programming rights and TV platforms.
