Job Description
Salary: £50,000
If you’re a law student in your penultimate year or beyond, or a finalist or graduate with a non-law degree, you can apply for our two-year training contract.
First you get a thorough introduction to the people who support your work and training. With you, we plan four seats of six months each, and review that plan at regular intervals. A seat starts with a handover, complete with technical training. We want you to experience a broad range of training with us and ask that you undertake a seat within our Global Loans or Global Markets group as well as completing a seat in one of our transactional departments. You also get an opportunity for a six-month international or client secondment.
All our trainees attend The University of Law to complete post graduate study. If you haven't yet completed a law degree you will undertake the Post Graduate Diploma in Law (PGDL), which is a replacement of the GDL, before moving on to complete an LLM Legal Practice Course (SQE 1&2) which is unique to Ashurst and is a replacement of the previously known Legal Practice Course (LPC). We offer the following benefits to future joiners:
- bursaries for The University of Law that cover course fees and provide £10,000 per year towards maintenance costs (£9,000 if you study the PGDL outside London)
- interest-free loans of £2,000, repayable in instalments once you start your training contract.
For those wishing to secure a Training Contract with us prior to September 2024 you must be eligible to start and have already completed the GDL and be ready to complete or have completed the LPC. Full funding and a maintenance grant will be given for those who are still to complete the LPC if you join us prior to September 2024.
