A Sports sector focussed independent law firm in London is recruiting for a Commercial Solicitor to join their team in London. The team are ranked for Sports in both Legal 500 and Chambers, and consists of over 30 fee-earners who are able to advise on the most complex and important work in sports for a roaster of high profile domestic and international clients. They act on many of the highest value and most complicated commercial deals in sports for a strong client base including sports tech and data companies, prominent brands, and rights holders.
The team are now seeking to recruit a mid to senior-level commercial associate to join their team. You will be advising on a range of commercial matters, as well as having the opportunity to work on a range of regulatory matters in sport.
Your work will include advising on:
Sponsorship, merchandising and licencing arrangements for both rights holders and brands.
The intersection between technology and sport (including for high growth technology providers, sports data and analytics providers, and institutional customer / rights holder clients)
Establishing new sports competitions (domestically and internationally) and the contractual relationships between different stakeholders in sport.
This role would suit an ambitious lawyer, ideally 4 - 6 years PQE, looking to join a growing and exciting firm. The ideal candidate will have:
Solid commercial experience gained from either a leading City practice or in-house.
Experience advising on technology supply/procurement, media rights, or data protection law will be an advantage, but is not essential.
Experience in sports law.
Exceptional communicator, with strong client facing skills.
Excellent academics.
