We are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier for a well-regarded law firm based in Ipswich.
Reporting directly to the Accounts/Payroll Manager you must have a friendly and approachable manner with well-developed verbal skills when liaising with other staff, suppliers, bankers and accountants. You must have accuracy, and reliability including the ability to handle all situations appropriately. The successful individual should also be able to work on an independent basis and as part of a team subject to supervisory direction and review.
Your duties as a Legal Cashier will include:
* Liaising with colleagues regarding incoming monies – notification of monies received and postings and general queries as they arise.
* Online bank payments to include BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payment, International Payments – both inputting and ensuring appropriate authorisation.
* Inter account transfers – moving monies from client account to office account in relation to outstanding bills and disbursements.
* Processing of receipts, payments, invoices, write offs, expenses and daily banking.
* Daily Bank Reconciliations.
* Purchase Ledger – recording and payment of invoices when due.
* Ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and Money Laundering Regulations at all times.
* Registering and reporting possible breaches to the COFA.
* Helping to ensure fee earners and other support staff comply with the firm’s internal cashiering regulations.
