Family/Matrimonial Solicitor/Lawyer
Our forward thinking client law firm in Tring is now seeking a Matrimonial/Family Solicitor of approx. 4 yrs + pqe who is able enough to work largely unsupervised with secretarial support.
The successful candidate will be assisting in matters of Divorce & Civil Partnership Dissolution; Financial Settlements, Children Disputes, Pre- & Post Nuptial Agreements, Separation Agreements, Cohabitation Agreements, Change of Name.
- Initially our clients will consider someone part-time role (they suspect a max of 3 days a week).
- Shared Secretarial support will be available.
- Solicitor required. Membership of Resolution and/or the Law Society Family Law Accreditation Scheme would be an advantage.
- Main/General responsibilities
1.1 To manage all client work allocated and in accordance with detailed procedures and quality standards contained in the firm’s Office Manual.
1.2 To ensure that all client work is progressed expeditiously and that the client is kept regularly informed on progress and on costs.
1.3 At all times to exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner.
1.4 To ensure the confidentiality and security of all of the firm’s and client documentation and information.
1.5 To achieve agreed levels of billing and time recording.
1.6 In close liaison with the bookkeeper, to have overall responsibility for credit control on own matters.
1.7 To comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and the Rules on the Professional Conduct of Solicitors.
1.8 To maintain clear and precise communications with other personnel of the firm.
1.9 To ensure good working relationships with external institutions and organisations.
1.10 To supervise, support and develop immediate support staff.
1.11 To take responsibility for and attend to self-development.
1.12 In conjunction with the firm, to comply with the relevant training requirements of the Law Society/Institute of Legal Executives and to assist with in-house training as may be required.
1.13 In liaison with the Principal, to be active in promoting the services of the firm and its image and ethos.
Start Date: Asap
Holidays: Standard plus extra Bank Holidays
Hours: - flexible 3 days a week initially.
Salary : £40-50,000 pro rata dep on exp and qualifications
