Information Manager - up to £37,000 An exciting opportunity for an experienced Information Manager to join a national not-for-profit organisation as a permanent hire. This is a flexible working opportunity requiring 35 hours per week, (Monday to Friday). This opportunity can work out of any of their offices in Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Cambridge, Birmingham, Nottingham, Belfast, Edinburgh, Exeter, Cardiff. Requiring 2 days in the office, the other 3 days can be remote based if desired. Occasional travel may be needed. The successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree standard or have significant relevant vocational experience. You will need to be able to demonstrate experience working within Information Governance, ideally coming from the public sector/arm’s length bodies with Managerial experience. Key technical knowledge and an awareness of ISO 27001 and other security compliance standards. Knowledge of data processing, and experience in data security processes, including disaster recovery and business continuity. A knowledge of data protection laws and legal compliance and effective working and understanding of the Freedom of Information Act. Experience of dealing with Internal Audit and other types of audit would also be beneficial. They are looking for a strong communicator who is able to present to non-technical audiences and deliver training and development. A well organised individual who can work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Working within the Legal and Governance team supporting the Corporate Services Function and reporting into the Head of Governance. Information Manager is responsible for the implementation & maintenance of policies, procedures and Information Governance (IG) measures in compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and information security best practice (supporting the Senior Information Risk Owner). Additional you will have a direct line management responsibility for the Information Officer including performance appraisal and development. Specific duties include: * Ensuring compliance with data protection and freedom of information requirements * Provide advice on Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Information Governance matters * Develop and manage an information assurance framework, and related audits * Draft and maintain information governance policies, standards, procedures * Supervise and advise on information governance impact assessments * Develop and support an ongoing programme of IG training and awareness activities * Maintain Information Asset Register, Privacy Impact Assessments, Privacy Notices * Support the Information Asset Owners and Information Asset Managers * Information governance incident management – support and co-ordinate any remediation * Manage an information security assurance framework, and related audits and tests * Ensure the effective management of information security risks * Assist in the development, documentation and implementation of information security policies, plans and procedure * Ensure that information threats, vulnerabilities and breaches are managed to minimise impact to confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems and data * Facilitate due diligence assessments on service providers and suppliers * Define and maintain a record of compliance obligations A super opportunity to use your skillset and influence working for this nationwide, well-respected organisation.
