Job Title: Inhouse Legal Solicitor Responsible To: Managing Director The inhouse Legal Solicitor will be responsible for guiding and actively supporting the Senior Management and Operations Teams in ensuring legal compliance in all areas of the business; including but not limited to Employment, Property, Immigration and Commercial Contracts for companies within the Group. We are looking for an experienced legal professional, with a broad range of legal experience. There will be a particularly emphasis on supporting the organisation with Employment law and incident management, housing issues related to benefits entitlements, rent arrears and contract management. Ideally, you will be someone with an entrepreneurial nature, who has aspirations to be a partner in a legal firm in the future. Summary of Benefits: Annual salary up to £60k (dependent upon experience) performance related bonus, Company Pension Scheme, Company laptop, Mileage paid for business use, Car business insurance paid, Free car parking The role will be specifically responsible for: 1. Reviewing and providing guidance on the legal implications of internal policies and procedures, updating and redrafting where appropriate and communicating to the management team. 2. Take responsibility for resolving all legal position relating to housing benefit for service users, including reviewing the processes where required. 3. Drafting new policies and making revisions to existing policies and processes in line with legisliative changes. 4. Populating template contracts to a consistently high standard for colleagues within Sales and Marketing (training provided) 5. Regularly communicating relevant legal information to the management team and organisation to ensure compliance in all areas of the business. 6. Investigating complaints raised across the business, providing a full and detailed report on legal position and responding to those interested parties. 7. Providing advice on company audits which will require reviewing of documents and developing an understanding of CQC (Care Quality Commission) Regulations. 8. Providing legal guidance to the management team on any HR related processes, including disciplinary, grievance and performance management procedures. 9. Carrying out any other relevant projects as requested by the Senior Management Team to ensure the effective performance of the organisation The following qualification, skills and experience are required for this role: 1. Qualified solicitor or legal executive and practised in the last 3 years 2. Must possess a degree in law and an understanding of litigation and associated legal processes 3. Must have experience of working in a legal role relating to Employment law, housing benefit, rent, evictions and contract management. 4. Background in social care beneficial including an understanding of CQC regulations and LMA would be highy beneficial, although not essential 5. Demonstrable professional understanding of all the legal aspects of contract management and employment law 6. Ability to keep up to date with current management and employment law 7. Demonstrable cross team working to embed legislative principles to all management 8. Must have excellent problem solving skills, critical analysis and data processing 9. Able to manage own workload and bring projects to satisfactory conclusions 10. Strong English spoken, listening, writing, communication and presentation skills 11. Ability to be able to develop good working relationships with all levels in the organisation 12. Strong administration/drafting skills and letter/report writing 13.
