Eventus Legal is seeking a Principal Solicitor to join an award-winning organisation that provides services to SME’s helping them thrive nationally. The incoming Solicitor will be providing advice and representation to the organisation’s clients for employment tribunal claims. This is a permanent, full-time, position based in Manchester. Role Responsibilities
The incoming Principal Solicitor will be assisting the organisation’s clients when they receive employment tribunal claims, working in a dynamic and supportive team covering every aspect of cases, and responsible for the supervision of the trainee solicitors. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Manage your own caseload
* Review Tribunal claims
* Draft ET£ responses
* Deal with disclosures
* Provide Merits of claim
* Prepare trial bundles
* Conduct conciliation and settlement negotiations
* Carry out preliminary advocacy in the Et by phone, virtual meeting or by phone
* Identify witnesses and assist in preparation, drafting and finalise witness statements
* Liaise with tribunal claimants and representatives of clients
* Monitor the caseloads of the trainee solicitors and ensure they are progressing, perform weekly reviews
* Quality check and assess trainee solicitors monthly
* Provide coaching and mentoring to members of the Litigation team and highlight further training that may be required
Person Specification
Applications are sought from articulate and confident, experienced Employment Solicitors with experience in employment law and a minimum of 1-year PQE. You will relish assuming responsibility for your caseload and having responsibility for the supervision of a team. The organisation is also looking for the following skills and experience:
