My client, an award-winning International Law Firm based in Liverpool City Centre are looking to recruit an experienced HR Advisor. As an HR Advisor, you will join a company that acts as a trusted adviser to a wide portfolio of clients across a wide range of specialist sectors: from transport and logistics and international trade, through to retail, insurance, marine, health, education, manufacturing, public sector and banking and financial services. As standard - Working Monday to Friday, 9-5, 35 hours per week. Introduction to the role: Working as part of the HR Operations team, you will primarily provide support on employee relations matters, and contribute to ongoing HR projects. The role will involve assisting with the supervision of HR Assistants and providing administrative support where necessary. Introduction to the team: Led by a HR Director, the HR team is currently made up of 24 people, who strive to deliver a seamless service to all Partners and employees. The team provide expert advice and support in areas such as employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, diversity and inclusion and reward. Key responsibilities: * Providing HR/employment advice to managers and employees as required * Supporting managers and employees on HR processes including redundancy and TUPE * Managing restructure projects and consultation processes * Reviewing HR processes and making recommendations for changes * Liaising with employees who are absent and supporting their line manager with return to work meetings, absence reviews etc. * Making Occupational Health referrals where appropriate, building relationship with Occupational Health provider and support line managers with recommendations and reasonable adjustments * Undertaking duty of care and return to work meetings. * Supporting HR Assistants to ensure all general HR administration is up to date. * Undertaking formal meetings such as grievances and disciplinary hearings * Supporting HR Assistants with the management of all aspects of the family leave process * Supporting line managers in dealing with performance management issues in their teams * Dealing with people issues both formal and informal. * Managing and co-ordinating employee surveys * Assisting with policy review and making recommendations for changes * Production of ad-hoc reports and spread sheets. * Production of formal paperwork and letters as required. * Involvement in any ad-hoc HR projects as required. * To build a HR presence and wider Firm networking by conducting travel to other UK offices (Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle and London). Essential Skill Set & Experience Required: * Previous experience in providing HR advice on a range of HR related issues. * Excellent understanding of employment law. * Good judgement and problem-solving skills * Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines * A calm and professional manner wth excellent communication skills. * Able to operate in a busy and fast paced environment. * Be able to work under own initiative & as part of a team. * Flexibility in approach and willingness to work outside of normal office hours, if required. * CIPD qualification (Level 5 or equivalent as a minimum requirement). Desirable: * Previous experience of working in a law firm or the professional services sector * Level 7 CIPD qualification is preferred.
