ACCOUNTS AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

Our client has a vacancy for an Accounts and Administration Manager to handle a diverse and challenging workload to support the delivery of legal services. Duties may include but not be limited to: * management of the finance and back office; * day-to-day and annual responsibility for the firms Accounts; * human resources management; * advice on regulatory compliance including SRA and SAR’s; * organisation of the firm’s insurance, accreditation and practicing certificate renewals; * attending Board meetings; * negotiating with third party suppliers and; * developing organisational and performance systems. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to find solutions to complex issues will therefore be essential. This is a hands-on role suited to a dedicated professional who thrives under pressure and would like to become an integral part of a practices continued success. Main Responsibilities * Prepare and provide information to the firm’s accountants for annual SAR’s audit and year end accounts. * VAT returns * Corporate Tax instalments * Payroll * NI/Tax payments due to HMRC * Maintain/update staff benefits scheme. * CQS applications * Annual CQS training courses – ensuring the courses are completed by all relevant staff members. * Practicing certificate bulk renewal application * PII renewal * Insurance renewals * SRA applications when required. * HR related tasks – resignation acceptance letter, Bradford factor calculations, written warning, references. * Carry out DBS checks and ensure they are up to date. * Provide support to staff in relation to software/systems. * Checking and authorising TT’s/BACs from the client account. Applicants should ideally have: * previous relevant experience within the legal environment * A comprehensive understanding of Solicitor Regulatory Authority (SRA) accounts rules. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to adhere to and manage deadlines with minimal supervision. * Strong IT skills Due to the large number of responses we receive it is not always possible to respond to every application straight away.
