Marketing Executive (Ref:1781) Landmark Chambers £34,000 - £40,000 Our client, a leading Planning, Environmental, Property and Public Law set based in London, is seeking a Marketing Executive to join their renowned team. Working under the day-to-day supervision of the Marketing and Events Manager, the Marketing Executive is expected to effectively deliver the marketing function of Chambers. You will supervise and coach the Marketing Assistant. You will also work closely with the Practice Managers who deliver Business Development (BD) services to provide Landmark’s barrister clients with a high-impact, strong profile/reputation in social media and a strongly client-focused service. The role has a focus on the communications aspects of marketing, especially on online/digital marketing/social media outputs of Chambers. The Marketing Executive will be expected to raise the online profile of Landmark Chambers with a focus on clients/prospective clients, potential lateral hires and pupil recruits. Internal communication is essential to Chambers and your role will include developing new lines of communication with barristers, the Practice Management Team and the Chief Executive. The successful candidate will have a background in digital marketing and communications with demonstrable experience of both areas. The drive is to help the barristers showcase and gain recognition for their expertise, and ensure clients and targets are fully aware of their work and how they may be able to assist them. Working closely with those delivering BD and events, you will assist by developing innovative marketing initiatives and reporting on their effectiveness. Critically you will be responsible for the management of the website, social media and digital channels, including reporting and analytics and the identification of trends, areas of strength and areas for improvement, as well as collating content for client communications across the channels. You will identify and co-ordinate submissions to industry awards and directories and update and produce new marketing collateral. Title: Marketing Executive Reporting to: Marketing and Events Manager Permanent Salary: Competitive, dependent upon experience, plus multiple benefits including: private medical healthcare, pension scheme, death in service life cover, discretionary bonus scheme, etc. Hours: 09:00 to 17:30, full time. Extended hours may include evenings and weekends in order to facilitate events. Based in Fleet Street with occasional travel to other venues as required. Some opportunities for remote working on an agreed basis. Overtime for working out-of-hours or projects available on a pre-agreed basis. Duties Include: Marketing Events and Seminars * Support the planning and delivery of seminars, conferences, client-focused events, and corporate hospitality * Using LEX and Eventbrite to create marketing mailshots * Reviewing and formatting marketing materials for events * Attending seminars held both in Chambers and outside of London to ensure their smooth running * General responsibilities include securing venues, aiding in the development of client lists, sending client invitations, overseeing RSVP processes, coordinating with external speakers, overseeing barrister engagement, and handling post-event follow-up activities. Website and Social Media * Taking primary responsibility for our website and its content, as well as managing the relationship with our web designers; assisting barristers in the drafting of news updates and their website profiles; ensuring a fair and balanced presentation of the casework of all practice teams in line with our news policies * Uploading and editing content on Landmark’s websites * Overseeing our social media accounts, and advising on appropriate content, particularly LinkedIn, X and Instagram as well as other platforms and tools such as YouTube, Canva, MailChimp, Eventbrite, Buzzsprout and others as needed. Content management * Designing a system which ensures we pro-actively identify and market barristers’ high-profile cases and other work * Engaging with barristers to identify and develop core themes and topics for seminars, white papers, video content, and other thought leadership initiatives, and ensuring that content is delivered through our e-newsletters, blogging and other digital outlets in tandem with our Marketing and Events Manager, assisting in organising face to face or webinar delivery and/or written assets such as white papers, blogs, newsletters, podcasts, videos, vlogs * Filming and editing audio and video content using Chambers’ AV kit to produce high quality visual pieces for use on the website, social channels etc. Includes applying the provided Chambers’ branding, captions templates etc and managing the approval process with the barristers. Print Materials and Promotional Materials * Assisting with the development of all marketing collateral including team brochures, as well as regular subsequent review or potential improvements and updates * Supervising the Marketing Assistant in ordering business cards and branded stationery; and sourcing and ordering appropriate promotional items. Directories and industry awards • Co-ordinating processes for making submissions to industry awards and legal directories, engaging with barrister team leaders as appropriate, and managing relationships with external support tasked to provide assistance. Pupillage Management * Managing the calendar of pupillage events as well as attending the events where required. * Assisting the Marketing and Events Manager with PowerPoint presentations, brochures and all other communications materials for external pupillage events as well as researching and ordering promotional items. Administration and Other • Producing agendas and minutes for all marketing-related meetings • Preparing travel itineraries for international trips • Supporting the Practice Management Team with venue research and bookings for BD events/entertaining as required • Ensuring familiarity with all relevant data protection rule and regulations, including GDPR and PECR and ensuring compliance with the same through adherence to Chambers’ policies • Database management to ensure good data hygiene practices are maintained • Formatting presentations and materials in line with the brand guidelines • All other duties as reasonably required of the role. Person Specification Essential Educated to a degree standard At least 12 months’ experience in a related marketing role, including demonstrable experience of delivering marketing activities to a high standard Solid experience of drafting communications across multiple channels including brochures, presentations, blogs, press releases etc Ability to build relationships with internal colleagues and to welcome and engage with clients and professional contacts appropriately Proactive and self-motivated A high level of personal integrity and confidentiality Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including good spoken and written English Ability to work effectively with colleagues, members of Chambers and professional clients Calm, patient and flexible approach to working in a busy environment Ability to work unsupervised, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines Pro-active and solution orientated approach to working and problem solving Professional attitude and presentation, especially when representing Chambers externally Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel as well as a range of digital marketing channels. Desirable A degree in Marketing or relevant CIM qualification Experience of marketing and business development within the legal marketplace Detailed knowledge of the legal sector and a demonstrable understanding of the relevant business issues Experience of working with CRM databases
