Rare opportunity for an experienced employment law barrister to join a thriving national firm in the Midlands. My client is a prestigious Top 100 law firm with an excellent reputation for the quality of its work and clients and also as an employer, consistently ranking highly in various publications as being a firm people enjoy working for. The firm’s highly-regarded employment law team works for a predominantly respondent-focused client base and is seeking to recruit a barrister for a role which will see you conducting advocacy for clients including large PLCs at Employment Tribunal and the EAT, as well as providing advice to such clients on other areas to reduce the risk of future litigation. You will be an experienced employment barrister of at least 5yrs call, and will be looking for an exciting role offering a great combination of advocacy matters, whilst also offering scope for career progression and the ability to build up client relationships which are more typically found within private practice. You will have advised on a diverse range of matters to include unfair dismissal claims, discrimination claims, whistleblowing and grievances, as well as an awareness of issues with the potential to become contentious including TUPE, redundancy and restructuring. This is an exceptional (and rare) role for an ambitious employment barrister seeking a role which is a little different to the norm, and which can be based out of a number of the firm’s offices across the East and West Midlands, Remuneration is excellent and towards the top of market rate for a firm of this profile.
