Job Title: Private Client Solicitor Salary: Competitive – £40k to £70k (dependant on experience)  Location: Canterbury or Thanet A fantastic opportunity has arisen with my client, a leading law firm based in Canterbury. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Private Client Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or non-admitted Private Client practitioner to join a growing Private Client department. Duties include: Manage a mixed caseload that includes wills, probate, and lasting powers of attorney. To promote the firm and develop a client base. To manage all work allocated by the head of department or other partner in accordance with detailed procedures and quality standards contained in the firm’s Office Manual. Exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner dealing with any complaints in a professional and timely manner. To maintain up to date company and commercial awareness sufficient to relevantly promote the image, ethos, services, and interests of the company. To ensure good working relationships within the firm and with external institutions and organisations. To achieve agreed levels of billing and time recording. In close liaison with the Accounts department to have overall responsibility for credit control on own matters. To maintain clear and precise communications with other personnel of the firm. To provide advice, guidance, development, and supervision of support staff within their delegated area of responsibility. To take responsibility for and attend to self-development including compliance with the relevant training requirements of the Law Society. The successful candidate will have: Prior experience working in a busy Private Client department. Experience managing a mixed caseload that includes wills, probate, and lasting powers of attorney. Experience of trust matters, and court of protection matters would also be beneficial but is not essential. Knowledge of Legal software packages Good communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when dealing with clients The ability to exercise judgement and initiative in their work escalating issues in a timely and appropriate way Package: £40k to £70k – dependant on experience 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Discretionary bonus scheme Flexible working (60% in office 40% from home) Car parking and season ticket loans Join this highly reputable firm that is one of East Kent’s largest and oldest legal practices.
