Legal Assistant - Family Business Unit Family This is a permanent, full time vacancy that will close in 2 months at 12:26 BST. The Vacancy We are currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant to join our Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse team in Bath. You will provide an efficient and effective administrative support to the team in which you work, enabling the team/department to function effectively and achieve its objectives. To ensure that work done by the team/ department complies with internal quality standards and external requirements. You will primarily work for our Head of Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse for privately funded and legal aid clients. Key Responsibilities * Manage an administrative workload under the guidance of fee earners * Undertaking audio dictation typing on a daily basis (letters/emails/documents/attendance notes etc) * Undertaking administrative tasks delegated via email/in person and by audio dictation * Provide administrative support to fee earners including file-opening (including conflict checks and using referrals system), telephone management and communications, dealing with new enquiries, document production (incl. managing voice recognition procedures and outsourcing providers), electronic filing, archiving, photocopying, email management, online portal management (Legal Aid), dealing with post, creating of electronic bundles, managing fee earner’s diary, booking training, booking barristers * Draft documents and bills, under supervision, using appropriate precedents and templates to accurately reflect fee earner instructions * Undertake basic legal processes, under supervision, such as assisting to process cases through portals, obtaining relevant documentation, arranging case meetings, arranging funding, liaising with the court, completing relevant forms and processing monies * Deal with new enquiries for the department (phone and email) Skills, Experience and Attributes * Previous experience within a Legal Assistant or Administrative role/ LLB/ experience of working in a Family Team environment is desirable * Excellent organisation capability with the ability to effectively prioritise * Solid understanding of Microsoft Office suite and other relevant IT platforms * Strong written communication skills * Demonstrate a good understanding of client relationship management The Company We’re RWK Goodman – a progressive Top 100 law firm.
