Probate Team Manager Location: Derby Salary: Up to £60,000 Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (37.5 hours per week) The Opportunity We are recruiting for an experienced Probate Team Manager on behalf of a respected and growing legal services organisation specialising in Wills, Probate and Estate Planning. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to lead a team of Probate Legal Advisors, combining technical expertise with strong people leadership to deliver excellent client outcomes and departmental performance. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership Manage, motivate and develop a team of up to 8 Probate Legal Advisors. Drive performance against team targets and KPIs. Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews and coaching sessions. Identify training needs and support ongoing professional development. Assist with recruitment, onboarding and retention of team members. Work collaboratively with other managers to ensure departmental success.Legal & Compliance Provide technical supervision and support to the team. Maintain a small personal caseload of probate matters. Ensure compliance with SRA regulations and internal policies. Monitor file quality, matter progression and risk management. Keep abreast of legislative and industry changes.Client Service & Performance Ensure clients receive a high-quality, compassionate service throughout their probate journey. Support the resolution of client complaints when required. Monitor work-in-progress, billing and team capacity. Hold regular matter reviews to ensure files progress efficiently. Produce accurate performance reporting and implement improvements where needed.About You Essential Qualified Solicitor (with current practising certificate) or Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEx). Strong experience in Probate and Estate Administration. Previous supervisory, team leadership or management experience. Excellent knowledge of SRA regulations and compliance requirements. Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop others. Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.Personal Attributes Passionate about delivering exceptional client service.
