Planning Solicitor | NQ - 3 PQE
Regional locations (Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds) | National law firm | Excellent career development
I'm working with a highly regarded national law firm that is looking to strengthen its Planning team with the appointment of a Solicitor at NQ-3 PQE.
This is a particularly good opportunity for someone looking to establish or develop their career within planning law, joining a firm with an established national presence, an excellent reputation and the resources to undertake high-quality work for an impressive client base.
With the flexibility to be based in one of the firm's regional hubs, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced planning lawyers on a varied caseload, gaining exposure to matters that extend well beyond your immediate location.
The opportunity
The team advises on a broad range of planning matters, working with an interesting mix of clients across the public and private sectors. The work is varied and offers exposure to some genuinely interesting development and infrastructure projects.
You'll have the opportunity to get involved in areas including:
Planning applications, permissions and associated agreements.
Section 106 agreements and planning obligations.
Planning appeals, enforcement and related contentious matters.
Strategic development and land use issues.
Compulsory purchase and infrastructure-related matters.
Advising developers, landowners, public sector bodies and other key stakeholders.
The role will offer plenty of scope to develop your technical experience, take on responsibility and work closely with senior members of the team.
What they're looking for
A qualified Solicitor, ideally NQ-3 PQE.
Experience or a genuine interest in planning law.
Someone with a strong grounding in property, environmental or public sector-related work may also be considered, depending on their experience.
A commercially minded individual with good communication skills and the ambition to develop within a recognised national practice.
Someone who enjoys working collaboratively and wants to be part of a supportive team.
Why consider it?
Joining a national firm brings real advantages. You'll benefit from the breadth of expertise, client base and opportunities that come with a larger practice, without necessarily having to be based in a major city centre office.
It's an opportunity to work on interesting matters, learn from established practitioners and build a long-term career within a firm that has a genuine national reach.
Interested?
If you're an NQ or junior Planning Solicitor considering your next move, I'd be very happy to have a confidential conversation.
Equally, if you're a property or public sector lawyer with an interest in moving into planning, it would be worth a discussion.
