Finance Director
We are looking for a Finance Director to take on strategic responsibility for the finance and grant management systems for a small/medium sized UK registered charity operating globally
Position: Finance Director
Location: Flexible, Home based with some travel to London
Hours: Full time initially for the first 8 weeks, then part-time 3 days per week
Salary: Circa £65-£70k per annum (pro-rata for part-time)
Contract: Permanent
Benefits: 28 days annual leave including Bank Holidays, with Christmas office closure as additional leave; pension scheme (5% employer contribution, 3% employee contribution)

The Role
Initially the Finance Director will work on a key project for approximately 8 weeks, you will be setting up management / cost centre accounts, as well as advising on and implementing a brand new grant management system that can manage various start dates, various durations and various currency of grants. Following this project, the role will then be part-time, 3 days per week (flexible).
You will be responsible for the ongoing support to the finance team, including:
- Supporting the day-to-day transactions and management of Xero
- Training the team on how to use and understand the systems
- Helping to support with the budgets for grant proposals
About you:
The Finance Director will have extensive experience at a senior level within a non-profit/charity. Practical knowledge of grant management systems and charity accounting is essential.
Other key skills and experience include:
- Previous operational experience within a senior finance role
- Managerial experience, including both staff and resources.
- Strong financial management skills and ability (including SORP).
- Knowledge and understanding of organisational IT systems.
- Excellent project management skills.
- CCAB qualification or equivalent.
