Were you in care as a child? Do you want to help improve the lives of care leavers in the criminal justice system? Then come lead our work to develop, manage and deliver The CLA projects to achieve key policy and practice change in relation to care leavers in the criminal justice system.
This is a great role for someone who has the passion and committment to make real change. You will be involved in advocating for change in policy and practice at national and local level. You will develop campaigns to ensure change happens throughout the criminal justice system. And working for a user-led organisation you will ensure that care leavers are at the heart of all our work.
CJS Projects
Strategic lead on the development of CJS projects within The CLA strategic and business plan framework
CLA lead on publicity and external communications in relation to CJS information
Lead on the development of CLA policy and CLA contributions to external policy debates in the CJS within The CLA strategic and business plan framework
Develop and maintain relationships with key national, regional and local policy makers and stakeholders in the CJS
Lead on achieving key policy and practice change at national, regional and local levels
Produce policy briefings on a variety of issues related to care leavers in the CJS
Develop and deliver a range of support interventions to all sections of the CJS
Develop and support regional working groups made up of key stakeholders
Lead on the development and delivery of campaigns on CJS issues
Undertake CJS project delivery where required
Undertake research in relation to the CJS
Undertake consultations with care leavers and host care leaver peer events
Management of support worker and volunteers
Contribute to the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems
Ensure all projects achieve objectives and are delivered effectively
Manage budgets within the CLA financial framework
Contribute to the planning and delivery of all CLA projects and activities
To speak publicly on behalf of The CLA on a range of issues
To respond to general enquiries through the CLA office and web site
Raise awareness and the profile of the CLA through attending meetings, networks, fora and conferences
Location
The Care Leavers Association operates a flexible working policy supporting staff members to divide working between the office and home. Our office base is in Manchester and the post holder would be expected to be in the office at least 2 or 3 days per week.
