Real Estate Development Solicitor

Job Description

Salary: Competitive

Real Estate Development Solicitor

Location: West Midlands | PQE: 3+

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Real Estate Development Solicitor to join a highly regarded and growing Real Estate team at an established West Midlands law firm.

With continued investment and growth across the department, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious property lawyer to join a progressive team, work on high-quality development matters and take on a greater level of responsibility across an established client base.

The team advises a broad range of clients, including developers, landowners, funders and end-user tenants, on a variety of residential, commercial and mixed-use development projects. The work is varied and often complex, providing exposure to high-value transactions and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with an impressive client base.

The Opportunity

This role would suit a confident and commercially minded solicitor with a background in real estate development who is looking to take the next step in their career.

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your own transactions, manage key client relationships and act as a trusted adviser to clients on a range of development projects. There is also scope to become increasingly involved in business development, client relationship management and the mentoring of junior team members.

Importantly, this is a position where you'll be encouraged to develop your own profile, contribute to the wider growth of the team and play an active role in shaping its future.

Key Responsibilities

Advising on a broad range of residential, commercial, mixed-use and strategic land development matters.

Managing your own caseload of development transactions, including high-value and complex projects.

Acting for developers, landowners, funders and end-user tenants.

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex transactional documentation.

Undertaking title investigations, legal due diligence, lender reporting and certificates of title.

Building and maintaining strong client relationships, providing commercially focused and pragmatic advice.

Taking responsibility for key client accounts and contributing to wider relationship management.

Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.

Playing an active role in business development, networking and the continued growth of the department.

About You

A qualified Solicitor with experience in commercial property and, ideally, real estate development.

Experience advising on residential, commercial or mixed-use development transactions.

Confident managing your own matters and dealing directly with clients.

Commercially aware, with the ability to provide practical and solutions-focused advice.

Ambitious and keen to develop your client relationships and wider profile.

Someone who enjoys working collaboratively and would welcome the opportunity to support more junior lawyers.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join a well-established firm with a clear appetite for growth and a genuinely people-focused culture.

You'll benefit from a varied and interesting development caseload, direct client exposure and the autonomy to take ownership of your work. For someone looking to progress beyond purely transactional responsibilities, there is also the opportunity to develop key client relationships, support junior colleagues and play a meaningful role in the department's future.

If you're a Real Estate Solicitor with development experience and are interested in exploring a move where you can combine quality work, career progression and greater involvement in client relationships, I'd be keen to have a confidential conversation.
