We're looking for someone to join Caritas Anchor House make a difference to people's lives in East London. We are looking for a Compliance Specialist as we go through an exciting period of growth!
About the role
This position has a pivotal role in providing an advisory service to management on issues of compliance and supporting the Strategic Management Team (SMT) to make sure that the organisation is conducting its services in full compliance with all relevant national laws and regulations, as well as professional standards, accepted workplace practices, and internal standards.
You will conduct regular internal audit processes and to prepare reports summarising the findings from each internal audit visit which may be shared with the SMT, relevant Board sub committees and the wider Board. You will maintain a good working knowledge and awareness of changing relevant regulation and best practice to ensure that as a charity we are able to ensure our compliance standards and approaches are current and well informed.
This post will be responsible for review and reporting our arrangements in relation (but not restricted) to health and safety, safeguarding, governance, finance and housing, this will include relevant legislation, regulation, best practise and internal policies and procedures. The Compliance Specialist is responsible for monitoring and reviewing compliance and processes (including procurement and contracts) identifying gaps, overseeing insurance renewals and reporting on recommendations for improvements.
About you
Demonstrable experience with and knowledge of the Charity Commission, Companies House and the Regulator of Social Housing rules, regulations and requirements.
Experience of successfully internally auditing or conducting compliance reviews to achieve contractual and organisational requirements.
Knowledge of audit, compliance and continuous improvement practices.
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise own workload.
Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills including ability to develop strong professional relationships.
Ability to work independently with high levels of autonomy and self-motivation.
